ABOUT
My name is Rachel Orridge, I’m a 22 year old designer from the South East. Currently, I’m in my third year of studying BA Visual Communication at the University for the Creative Arts, following my Foundation Diploma at the same institution.
I love exploring darker themes in a gentle way to expose their beauty. My inspiration comes from eclectic sources; the things I love, the world around me, other artists and designers. I chose to study Visual Communication as it gives me the opportunity to challenge conceptions through promotion, advertising and merchandising. I enjoy bringing my creative visions to a brief to build on requirements and make something special.
As an early career artist, I am still exploring my own personal styles and specialisms. This is not a process I want to rush, as I’m enjoying the freedom of working across practices. I work in a variety of mediums, using both digital and physical processes and have a wide range of skills that allow me to create many different types of outcome. I particularly enjoy illustrative art, but my work is not limited to just that. When I’m not studying, I work in areas such as design, social media and volunteering
